The tournament is held in early January each year, and in 2011 dates are yet to be released.

There is a preliminary teams competition - The Patsy Guthrie Cup, held on the first day then a four day tournament follows.

There are singles and doubles in all age groups. Most singles are best of 3 tie breaker sets and doubles are best of 2 tie breaker sets. Consolation draws are also run.

About 350 players attend the tournament each year. A number of players come from overseas and interstate and high standard competition is assured.
